What's that saying... Not as good as you want, but better than it could have been? [no you just described the idiom you idiot but ok whatever.] She kind of agreed. And I suggested that if she had any issues like that again-- where she's just assuming someone who keeps order is just naturally against her-- that she can tell me and I'll talk to them.

[A pause, then clarification!] Not to tell them off or anything! But...

[He frowns.] She sees and hears things. And that doesn't excuse what she does, but it does mean it's harder to predict or control it. So I figured... Maybe if she could feel safe backing off, then me and them could work out a plan to keep her from imagining she's cornered and has to kill people.

Which... might be stupidly hopeful of me. But it was the best I could come up with.

[Flynn agrees- it doesn't excuse what she does, and he's glad Lloyd sees it that way as well. And because of that... it's only fair that he listens and acknowledges Lloyd's endeavors.]

You don't have to apologize for that. [It's earnest and immediate!] We're all used to how things work in our own worlds, so of course in figuring out how to all live together here we're gonna butt heads sometimes.

...But it's appreciated. And I owe you one, too. Sorry I didn't hear you out better. Or know she actually injured you that badly. I'll work on asking more questions about that kind of thing, instead of assuming I know what's going on.

[A short pause, then a sigh out.] Hopefully this actually works for her... I know she's talked about.... it being the only way she could survive, before. And I think she's too scared of not knowing who she is to give that up.

[But that's just his read on it, and he could be completely wrong. She's difficult.]

[He didn't want it to seem like he was asking for pity. Still doesn't.]

I also intend on speaking with her again. In person, with no weapons, to negotiate something we can both agree on.

[And to show he's not afraid of her.]

If she's able to be reasoned with, like everyone says she is, then I think this will be able to happen without much conflict.

Oh, good. I think... [A pause, because he has to think about his words here. He's not quick when he's trying to be careful, sorry Flynn.]

I think that'll go okay. Just being upfront and clear is the best way to talk to her. And as hard as it can be, just hearing her out when she tries to say things and provoke you. At least we can keep the same sort of thing from happening again.

And, ah.... are you healing okay? I know some people who know healing artes, if that would help...

[Flynn nods. Upfront and clear was his intent. It's the 'don't let her provoke you' that he's really going to need to focus on. But he can do that. He has to, after all, lest there be another conflict. This time, it would be entirely on him, if he failed to keep himself in check.]

Shionne healed me, she is quite talented in the healing artes. She reminded me a little of someone I know from my world- only superficially, though.
